A transparency image of an American automobile is projected onto a blank life–size, cut-out. Monitors replace the moving parts (rotating wheels), and the artist, with her hair blowing in the wind, can be seen on the monitor’s screens. The whirr of the engine and the surrounding traffic, along with David Bowie’s ‘Golden Years’, form the background sounds. As in a dream, when the light is switched on, the projection and the monitor images suddenly stop... everything appears to have been an illusion, and all that remains is a white, 6.80 metre cut-out of an American car.
